Roger McNicholas leads mhm's Asian operations, based in Hong Kong. He has lived and worked in Asia for over ten years, providing strategy, business improvement and implementation services to public and private sector clients throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to this, Roger held management and executive roles with Australian and regional manufacturing and distribution companies for over 20 years.

Roger specialises in business process improvement, with a particular focus on internal or outsourced shared services centres and supply chain management. He has built and led regional teams for global professional services firms in both of these disciplines. His clients have been primarily multi-national organisations, and he has worked extensively on multi-site, multi-country assignments and global projects.

Roger has led and contributed to SAP and Oracle implementation projects, including management of associated process re-engineering and change management activities. He also has experience in defining strategy and implementation requirements for e-business applications, particularly in the area of procurement.

Roger's project experience includes:

  • Planning, design and establishment of a global finance and accounting shared services centre in Shanghai for a US-based chemicals company
  • Design and establishment of a regional HR shared services centre for a major oil company. The centre was built on a PeopleSoft platform, and included web-based procedures and customer self-service
  • Planning, design and implementation of a regional supply chain initiative for a Japanese multi-national, including establishment of Logistics centres for Asia and Australia/New Zealand
  • Outsourcing of domestic and regional procurement functions for a Japanese electronics company
  • Development of business processes and systems definitions covering finance, commercial, production, maintenance, procurement and HR functions for a greenfield petrochemical plant in China
  • Review of support processes for a Singapore government agency, including assistance in implementation of process changes and technical input to organisation redesign to support the new processes


He has managed assignments in the following sectors:
